The Aspen Institute Roundtable Series
The 2012 Innovation Economy conversation featured a roundtable discussion series hosted in partnership with The Aspen Institute, convening policy makers and leaders in government, academia, business and the media for a discussion on the vital role of innovation in maintaining U.S. competitiveness and economic growth.
Specifically, the conversation focused on fostering a culture of innovation for U.S. economic growth over the next decade and the disappearance of “idea factories” and what that means for job creation and American innovation.
Participants at this two-part series included:
- Robert Hormats, Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment
- Tim Adams, Director, The Lindsey Group (and Former Under Secretary of Treasury for International Affairs)
- Jon Gertner, Author, The Idea Factory: Bell Labs and the Great Age of American Innovation
